Windows 7 Tips

Windows 7 God Mode: Extended Control Panel for Windows

Recently there has been a lot of buzz about the Windows 7 "God Mode" feature which provides an access to all control panel tasks in a folder which can be referred as Super control panel.

Steps to enable it:

1. Create a new folder in any of the folder in any of your Windows partition.

2. Right-click on the folder and click on rename (or press F2)

3. Rename the folder as XYZ.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

4. Press enter and the icon would change into an extended control panel which enlists all the tasks in Control panel.

The trick is also said to work in Windows Vista, and although it works fine in 32-bit versions of Vista, it can cause a crash in 64-bit versions of that operating system. It can be referred as an Easter egg in windows.
